Search and Filter

Find anything in Inkwren quickly with the global search and filtering tools.

Global Search (CMD+K)

The fastest way to find anything in Inkwren is the command palette.

  • Keyboard: Press CMD+K (Mac) or Ctrl+/ (Windows/Linux)
  • Mouse: Click the Search button in the sidebar
  1. Open the command palette with CMD+K
  2. Start typing what you're looking for
  3. Results appear grouped by type (Stories, Publications, Authors, Series)
  4. Click a result or press Enter to go directly to that item

What You Can Search For

  • Stories: Find by title
  • Publications: Find by title
  • Authors: Find by name
  • Series: Find by name

Quick Actions

When the search is empty, you'll see quick actions:

  • New Story
  • New Publication
  • New Contributor
  • Import CSV
  • Ask AI Assistant

Recent Items

The command palette remembers items you've recently viewed, making it easy to jump back to what you were working on.

Filtering Tables

Each data table in Inkwren has filtering options to narrow down what you see.

Basic Filtering

  • Search Box: Type to filter the current table by name/title
  • Column Sorting: Click any column header to sort
    • Click once for ascending (A-Z, oldest first)
    • Click again for descending (Z-A, newest first)

Favorites Filter

Most pages have a ⭐ Favorites Only button to show just your starred items. See Favorites for more details.

Status Filters

On pages with status columns (like submissions), you can filter by:

  • Published
  • In Progress
  • Draft
  • And other relevant statuses

Search Tips

Start broad, then narrow: Begin with a general search, then use filters to refine.

Use the keyboard: CMD+K is faster than clicking through menus.

Recent items first: The command palette shows your recently accessed items, so you can quickly return to what you were working on.
