Solutions to common issues in Inkwren.

Login & Account Issues

I can't log in

Check your credentials

  • Make sure you're using the correct email address
  • Passwords are case-sensitive
  • Try the "Forgot Password" link to reset

Check your email verification

  • New accounts require email verification
  • Check your spam folder for the verification email
  • Request a new verification email if needed

Clear browser data

  • Clear cookies and cache for app.inkwren.com
  • Try an incognito/private window
  • Try a different browser

If you've tried all the above, contact support@inkwren.com with your email address.

I forgot my password

  1. Go to app.inkwren.com
  2. Click Log In
  3. Click Forgot Password
  4. Enter your email address
  5. Check your inbox for a reset link

Reset links expire after 24 hours. If expired, request a new one.

I'm not receiving emails

  • Check your spam/junk folder
  • Add noreply@inkwren.com to your contacts
  • Check that your email address is spelled correctly
  • Try a different email provider if issues persist

Data & Display Issues

I can't find my data

Check your workspace

  • Look at the workspace selector in the sidebar
  • You may be in a different workspace than expected
  • Switch workspaces to find your data

Clear filters

  • Check if any filters are active on the current view
  • Click "Clear Filters" or remove individual filter chips
  • Filters persist between sessions

Use search

  • Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+/ (Windows/Linux)
  • Search finds items across your entire workspace

Changes aren't saving

Check your connection

  • Inkwren requires an internet connection
  • Look for a connection indicator in the app
  • Try refreshing the page

Check for errors

  • Look at the bottom of the screen for error messages
  • Required fields may be missing
  • Data validation errors will be highlighted

Try again

  • Refresh the page and re-enter changes
  • If the problem persists, try a different browser

The page won't load

Refresh the page

  • Press Cmd+R (Mac) or Ctrl+R (Windows)
  • Or click the refresh button in your browser

Clear browser cache

  • Clear cache for app.inkwren.com specifically
  • Hard refresh: Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows)

Check your connection

  • Test other websites to confirm internet access
  • Try disabling VPN if you're using one

Try a different browser

  • Inkwren works best in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge
  • Ensure your browser is up to date

Import Issues

CSV import failed

Check file format

  • File must be CSV (comma-separated values)
  • First row must be headers
  • See CSV Import for required format

Check data quality

  • Remove special characters from headers
  • Ensure dates are in YYYY-MM-DD format
  • Check for empty required fields

Try a smaller file

  • Large files may timeout
  • Split into batches of 100-200 rows
  • Import in multiple passes
Import Preview

Always use the preview step to check how your data will be imported before confirming.

Some rows didn't import

  • Check the import results for error details
  • Common issues: duplicate entries, missing required fields, invalid dates
  • Fix the issues in your CSV and re-import the failed rows

Performance Issues

The app is slow

Check your connection

  • Slow internet affects app performance
  • Try on a different network

Reduce data load

  • Use filters to limit displayed items
  • Avoid loading all items at once on large lists

Clear browser data

  • Clear cache and cookies for app.inkwren.com
  • Restart your browser

Close other tabs

  • Too many open tabs can slow browsers
  • Close unused applications

Search isn't finding results

Check your query

  • Search looks at titles, names, and key fields
  • Try shorter, simpler search terms
  • Try different variations of the term

Check filters

  • Active filters limit search results
  • Clear filters before searching
  • Search only finds items you have access to

Feature-Specific Issues

Keyboard shortcuts aren't working

Check browser focus

  • Click somewhere in the app first
  • Shortcuts don't work if focus is on browser UI

Check for conflicts

  • Browser extensions may capture shortcuts
  • Try disabling extensions temporarily
  • Some shortcuts vary by operating system

Check the shortcut reference

  • Press Cmd+K to see available shortcuts
  • Some shortcuts only work on specific pages

Theme changes aren't applying

Hard refresh

  • Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows)

Clear cache

  • Cached styles may override new theme
  • Clear browser cache for app.inkwren.com

Rich text editor issues

Formatting not saving

  • Make sure to click Save after editing
  • Check for validation errors

Paste formatting issues

  • Use Cmd+Shift+V to paste as plain text
  • Then reapply formatting as needed

Error Messages

"Session expired"

Your login session has timed out. Click to log in again. Your work is saved automatically.

"Network error"

The app couldn't reach the server. Check your internet connection and try again.

"Permission denied"

You don't have access to this resource. You may need to:

  • Switch to the correct workspace
  • Ask a workspace admin for access
  • Log in with a different account

"Validation error"

A required field is missing or has invalid data. Check the highlighted fields and correct the errors.

"Server error"

Something went wrong on our end. Try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, contact support.
